The negotiations in St-Petersburg on September,18 became the beginning of a new stage in developing Finnish-Russian project on educational services and scientific researches within the frames of CBU consortium.
Mutual project of five Finnish Universities and four Russian Universities, the main aim of which is to establish Master’s degree programmes in six study fields: information and communications technology, business and administration, international relations, public health, forestry and environmental engineering, and history; will obtain new source of financing.
The services of participating Russian Universities in the field of education for the amount of 500 thousand US dollars will be paid from Russian budget as conversion of ex-USSR debt to Finland on the ground of Intergovernmental Agreement dated 15.08.2006.
The authorized representatives of Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnical University and Lappeenranta University of Technology with the participation of the representatives of Foreign Trade Association "Machinoimport" agreed on signing the contract for education services in year 2008.
